Buying a Home in Brevard County, Florida - Remember to check the local crime rate

According to an article in  Florida Today newspaper last week, Brevard County’s “overall crime up, murders down.”

The rate change is apparently being attributed to a population decrease.

I will not highlight any specific area of Brevard County as having more crime than any other.  Rather I will make only two points here.

1. Overall Brevard County crime rate is still lower that the state average. 
2. When you are considering purchasing a home in Brevard County, Florida I encourage you to

"call the local law enforcement agency and ask questions…specific questions directed all the way down to the neighborhood and street.
